So beautiful! I love to stare at my husband's face when he's asleep. I'm sure he'd love to hear that one...ha! But there's something about the quiet "defenselessness" of it that's even more beautiful. Your first stanza brings about all those images. Your second stanza is so true, too. So deep. Wonderful work.
read some - finally. liked some - obviously and i thought i might as well ask: care to (re)publish some of the poems on .nu? (i'm low on english posts as it is...)
Your point on defenselessness is spot on. Very perceptive of you to show that image, to emphasize that aspect. The part about dreams speaks to me, too, as I have a thing for lucid dreaming. (grin) Cheers. Have a blessed New Year, dear.
I'd like to (re)publish on .nu? Could you e-mail me and let me know the ones you liked and how do we continue from here?
S.L. I realized that not everybody could relate to the feeling of loneliness in dreams and I am glad when somebody understands. However there is beauty in this uniqueness, a cold beauty but… Happy new year to you! and should I say?: may we get "visited" more often in our dreams

It is a beautifully made poem, delicate and strong.

sleeping beauty in a contemporary view (awoken by a kiss)... :)
a kiss as a weapon is a nice juxtaposition; but death is lonelier than dreams. dreams are visitations, death is...
Richard,
you might be right but this one does not conceptualize.
Subtly woven emotions in here.
mundane meanderings
Yes Gautami, emotions...
thanks...
ditto gingatao - delicate and strong sums it so well. can't decide which is my favorite stanza, so chose the whole poem!
Thank you for this comment
…and also for not choosing a favorite.
Beautiful. :)
Simona

Julie,
you and your husband are fortunate...
I like to wadch my children when they sleep
Such a beautiful poem even the second and third time read. And the comment stream reflects that beauty. Emanations of tenderness.
thanks, anon
You inspire me that I can never be as good a poet as you.
