Readwritepoem#66

If I were an explorer , one that does not fear ice and cold

I stand by the river, sunk
under the weight of ice
and call your image.

Let it snow white over
my blue memories
a frozen picture

in dark and white
as we made love under
the penguin sea.

There
it is you and
this is me.

That is a beautiful visual poem. Many lovely touches, close and tightly made. There's an innocence to it too that gives it great charm.

This strikes me as lovely, yet with a hint of darkness.

Delightful, surprising in simple poignancy.

Nicole,
after you mentioned that you see a dark side in it , I thought:yes, since I left him under the sea in a block of ice ;).thanks.
Carolee,
thank you...i liked it because blue and ice could mean they come from a place of peace and silence, but blue is also about the blues...
Angie,

What a beautiful poem! I love the contrasts of black and white, cold and hot (love). The frozen memories. I also love the delicate lines. This is spectacular!

Julie,

thank you.. i hadn't thought about it but the cold images might be about the absent love, the absent warmth...
